Quarles Petroleum Raises $15,700 for Area Food Banks
May 28, 2020 | Fredericksburg, VA —Quarles Petroleum, Inc. is proud to support the fight against hunger by contributing to local food banks every year. With lingering food insecurity from the pandemic, now, more than ever, we want to help our neighbors put food on their tables.
Traditionally, Quarles sponsors an Annual Canned Food Drive Competition, generating thousands of pounds of non-perishable goods to benefit our area food banks throughout the communities we serve.
To continue giving back to our local food banks during the COVID-19 pandemic, we transitioned from our annual canned food drive to a virtual cash fundraiser. Our associates donated funds online and Quarles matched those contributions. Together, we raised $15,700 for this year’s Virtual Food Bank. Quarles will be donating $2,500 to each of the food banks in our area, including the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank, the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, the Healthy Harvest Food Bank, the Capital Area Food Bank, and the Feed More Food Bank of Central Virginia.
We appreciate and thank our associates for taking this opportunity to give back to our local communities. The pandemic has had profound effects across so many aspects of people’s lives and has gone on for a long time. We hope that by mobilizing the caring power of our associates, food banks in our area will feel less strain when it comes to feeding our communities.
