As a proud supporter of the Rappahannock United Way (RUW), Quarles once again participated in their annual Impact Campaign. This year, the theme of the Campaign is “Change the Story,” aimed at raising awareness and funds to support critical services that can change the story for those in need in our community.

Each year, Quarles mobilizes employees and resources to support this worthwhile cause and encourages associates to give, advocate, and volunteer. To support this effort, Quarles provides time for associates to volunteer in the community through the United Way Day of Caring.  Twenty-six associates participated in Day of Caring, and donated their efforts to 9 projects at 8 organizations in Fredericksburg and King George.

Additionally, Quarles associates participate in the funding drive, with each dollar donated contributing a double-impact with match from Quarles. Last year, Quarles donated $33,000 to the campaign, $16,500 of which came directly from the generosity of associates. The goal this year was set at $35,000, and Quarles is pleased to announce the company has surpassed that goal. This year, Quarles associates, in combination with the company matching funds, will reach a total contribution of $40,000!

Because of the enthusiastic participation, Quarles has ranked as number 9 on the list of top 25 Companies in the RUW area in campaign contributions.  Last year, Quarles was nominated by Rappahannock United Way and won the award for the Chamber of Commerce Annual Goodwill award.  RUW also awarded Quarles the “Most Spirited” Campaign in 2013.

To kick off the campaign festivities, Quarles held an event on October 6th at its Fredericksburg Headquarters location, where associates donated baked goods for an auctions and participated in fundraising events, including a creative mini golf course, with each hole designed by Quarles associate teams.

Also, as a celebration of 75 years of impact in the community, the Rappahannock United Way hosted a free Community Appreciation Event on Sunday, October 19 at the Fredericksburg Agricultural Fairgrounds. Quarles participated by setting up a table at the event and handing out goodies to attendees.
