On March 11, 2015, Quarles was invited to a luncheon hosted by the Rappahannock United Way. The event celebrated the conclusion of the 2014 Change the Story Annual Campaign. At the event, the Rappahannock United Way recognized several area business and organizations who participated in the Annual Campaign.
During the ceremony, Quarles was honored as a Pacesetter Company. A Pacesetter is a company that gives a corporate gift, runs a campaign using best practices and completes campaigns early in the fall; thereby, setting the pace of the entire annual campaign.
Additionally, Quarles Campaign Coordinator, Wendy Lattimore, was named Campaign Coordinator of the Year for businesses with 51-200 employees. Under Wendy’s leadership, associates giving increased by 35% over 2013, leadership donors doubled, and the average employee gift increased by 78%!
Wendy ensured that the campaign and community needs were ever present throughout the campaign. She coordinated a fun, engaging, and successful Par Tee event wherein the associates demonstrated their artful talents by crafting industry specific “Par Tee” golf greens. She also helped coordinate a charity bake sale, associate luncheon, and other fun and games designed to raise enthusiasm and funds for the cause.
Quarles was also recognized with the Special Event Award for the Par Tee themed contest and events. The events kept the campaign top-of-mind for associates and helped to raise funds toward the company’s goal.
Last but not least, Quarles was the recipient (for the second year in a row) of the Excellence in Corporate Spirit Award for holding a company-wide giving campaign, encouraging employees to participate in the Day of Caring, providing a corporate matching incentive, and hosting RUW-themed events.
This year’s total campaign raised over $45,000. Each year, Quarles offers a corporate gift match bringing the 5-year total company giving to over $159,000!
Along with the participation of Quarles and other local companies, as well as local and federal government, the Rappahannock United Way raised $3,143,874.
