Quarles and the Piedmont United Way partner to support heating fuel program
Fredericksburg, Va (November 19, 2015) Quarles is proud to continue our partnership with the Piedmont United Way to provide heating fuel assistance to local families in need. The program, which is facilitated by the United Way, provides a way for residents struggling to keep their homes warm to receive the fuel they need during the cold season.
As part of the company’s Mission and Values statement, Quarles commits to mobilize company resources to support community needs. Participation in this program is one of several ways the company maintains close ties to community needs, especially those that relate directly to the products and services the company provides.
“We are pleased to again be partnering with Quarles to offer this assistance for the 2015 – 2016 winter seasons,” said Monica Creel, program administrator at Piedmont United Way.
Quarles will donate a minimum of $15,000 in heating fuels to fund the program. In addition to the company-funded participation, Quarles will offer to partner with the community and its customer base to increase the impact for this important service. This year, Quarles is inviting its customers to contribute to this fund to increase the impact of the program. Quarles customers can use the Quarles web portal to submit a donation by logging on to their online account at myaccount.quarlesinc.com. The company’s goal is to raise an additional $10,000 this heating season, and has committed to match each dollar donated, up to $5,000.
Quarles has been participating in the heating assistance program for the last four years, donating a total of over $45,000 worth of fuel. Through the heating assistance program, Quarles helps over 100 households each year maintain propane or heating oil to stay warm during the season.
“As members of the local community, we are proud to be consistent donors to this program and aid area residents in a way that aligns directly with our business,” said Paul Giambra, President and CEO of Quarles.
The program is available through the Piedmont United Way. Qualifying individuals enduring financial hardship will receive fuel through the program delivered from Quarles. Customers can call First Call for Help at (540) 825-7569 between the hours of 9:00 am – 4:15 pm, Monday through Thursday.
